SCAD 2023 Poster Session and Competitions for the Best Posters in Clinical or Research Category

It is our pleasure to inform you about new opportunity. Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry (SCAD) has established the award for the best poster in clinical or research category, related to color and appearance in esthetic dentistry. In addition, we are introducing a separate, Progress in Science and Education with Ceramics (PROSEC) Excellence Award this year. All US/international applicants are eligible for the awards.
Introduction
We urge you to submit an abstract to be considered for a poster presentation at the SCAD 2023 annual conference (November 10-11, 2023) in Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, Chicago, IL. The poster session will consist of a) General session, and b) PROSEC Excellence Award session, with posters selected from specific abstracts (instructions provided below).
General Session (all inclusive)
There will be two general poster categories, Clinical Category (case reports, interdisciplinary dentistry) and Research Category involving color and appearance in esthetic dentistry.
AWARD The winner will receive a complimentary registration for SCAD 2024.
PROSEC Excellence Award Session
If you are applying for the 2023 PROSEC Excellence Award for the best clinical and research posters, you also need to fill out and submit the respective application together with the Abstract form. US/international students (graduate/undergraduate) and dental professionals (with 10 or fewer years in practice/below the level of Associate Professor), are eligible for this award. The content should be related to color, esthetics and other aspects of ceramic restorations while emphasizing team work.
AWARD: The author of each accepted abstract will receive a complimentary registration for SCAD 2023 meeting and free hotel accommodation (up to two nights). In addition, the winners in student and dental professional category will receive a complimentary registration for SCAD 2024.

Important Dates
Abstract Submission Deadline: September 15, 2023 (11:59 pm CST). Please be sure to use a valid, long-term E-mail address when submitting your abstract as this E-mail address will be used for all further communications from the SCAD.
Provisional Acceptance/Rejection Notification: October 5, 2023 (11:59 pm CST).
Pre-registration: All presenters are required to pre-register by October 10, 2023 (11:59 pm CST). Failure to pre-register will result in your abstract being withdrawn from the meeting.
SCAD Annual Meeting – November 10-11, 2023
Instructions
The word limit for abstracts is 300 words. Presentation titles, names of authors and authors' affiliations are not included in the 300 word limit.
Each abstract must contain a brief statement of the objectives of the investigation, the methods used, the important results including data summaries and, where appropriate, statistics, the conclusion of the work.
Research abstracts should include the following headings: "Objectives", "Methods", "Results", and "Conclusion".
Clinical abstracts (techniques/case reports) should include the following headings: "Objectives", "Clinical Consideration" and "Conclusions".
In addition, all drugs and materials studied must be identified. Also, external funding must be specified by listing the name of supporting company or agency and, if appropriate, the grant number in the body of the abstract.
Agreement
Persons submitting an abstract are doing so with the understanding that they must abide by the following policies:
- You may only present one abstract
- You may appear as a co-author on an unlimited number of abstracts
- Presenters do not have to be a member of the SCAD
- You may not present previously published or presented work
- The official language of the meeting and all communications will be in English
